Maxine Margaritis, Utah Region Chief Executive Officer
Maxine Margaritis has over 25 years experience in nonprofit leadership. She spent 12 years in California working for the American Red Cross, a career path that began in Utah as a Red Cross youth volunteer. Maxine also spent 13 years as a non-profit consultant. As a part of her consulting work, she designed programs, collaborations and successful funding proposals for a wide range of organizations in California and Salt Lake City including The Women’s Foundation, The Wellness Community, and the Salt Lake City School District among others. Maxine has a Bachelor’s of Arts and a Master’s in Education from the University of Utah. Currently, Maxine serves on two local boards including the Utah Society of Fund Raisers and the Utah After School Network. She is also a member of Rotary Club 24.
Logan Sisam, Utah Region Director of Emergency Services
Logan Sisam is a native of Utah, graduated from Jordan High School and the University of Utah. Logan brings a wealth of experience in volunteer management from his public affairs and government relations work background. While working with public leaders Logan would often coordinate the efforts of hundreds of volunteers. For more than seven years Logan worked closely with nonprofit organizations which worked closely with government constituents. Most recently Logan worked as a Congressional Liaison with the US House of Representatives. He has built strong relationships across the State of Utah, working with local city and county leaders. Logan is proud of his Utah heritage and the life experiences he had while growing up in this great state.
Susan Thomas, Utah Region Director of Communications and Marketing
Susan Thomas brings 18 years of media experience to the American Red Cross in Utah. She served as a Television News Anchor and Reporter for 10 years, from 1986 – 1996. She then published and served as the Editor In Chief for a small newspaper in Utah for 8 years, from 1996-2004. Susan now uses her experience in journalism and publishing to increase public awareness through media relations and advertising about the American Red Cross Chapters in Utah. She serves as the lead Public Information Officer for the Red Cross Utah Region and has recruited and trained a team of Disaster Public Affairs volunteers statewide. She received her BA in Communications from the acclaimed Edward R. Murrow Communications Center at Washington State University and was a member of the W.S.U. Honors Program. Susan serves as an officer for the Utah PIO Association and is a Salt Shaker and Communications Committee member at the Salt Lake Chamber.
Bart Tapp, Utah Region Director of Preparedness and Health & Safety Services
Bart Tapp brings 20+ years of sales and marketing experience to the American Red Cross. Out of college he spent 5 years working for the American Heart Association helping establish divisions in Sandy, Provo and St. George and has spent the past 15 years in the employee benefit field working for such companies as CIGNA Healthcare, United Healthcare and Dental Select. Bart possesses a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah in Community Health Education and is a 2009 graduate of the Leadership Utah program sponsored by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Bart is an avid runner and is passionate about the Red Cross mission and its role as the largest volunteer organization in the United States.
Amy L. Hansen Utah Region Director of Development
Amy L. Hansen has over twenty years of experience working in the government and non-profit sectors. Her career includes public information and relations, human resources, project management, administrative and fundraising positions. Amy has a strong commitment to community and service and enjoys bringing people and resources together to benefit important causes. She is inspired by the work of the Red Cross. As Chief Development Officer for the Utah Region of the American Red Cross, Amy works with volunteers and staff across our state to generate revenue, donations and relationships that benefit the Red Cross and help us carry out our humanitarian mission.
